ThingTick (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is built around a simple principle: your data is yours. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using ThingTick you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Handle
ThingTick is designed to collect as little as possible.
- Account information. If you sign in, we use Apple’s “Sign in with Apple” or an anonymous guest account through Firebase Authentication. We receive an account identifier and, only if you choose to share it, your email address. We never receive your Apple password.
- Your content. The “Things”, maintenance events, dates, notes and history you create are stored locally on your device. If cloud sync is enabled, this content is stored in your account’s secured database to sync across your devices.
- Imported data. If you choose to import from Apple Reminders or Calendar, the app reads the items you select to create matching entries. This happens on your device, with your explicit permission, and only for the items you pick.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, browsing history, or advertising identifiers.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the core features of the app — tracking your maintenance items and their history.
- To sync your content across your devices when you enable cloud sync.
- To send the reminders you ask for.
- To process subscriptions through Apple (see Section 5).
We do not use your content for advertising, profiling, or training third-party models.
3. Third-Party Services
ThingTick relies on a small number of trusted providers:
- Apple. Sign in with Apple, iCloud, push notifications, and App Store subscription processing are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase. Used for authentication and optional cloud database sync, governed by Firebase’s Privacy & Security terms.
These providers process data only to deliver their service to you and are not permitted to sell it.
4. Data Storage & Retention
Your content is retained for as long as you keep it in the app. Deleting an item removes it from your device (and from cloud sync on your next sync). You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the app.
5. Subscriptions
ThingTick Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the Apple App Store. All payments are processed by Apple — we never see or store your payment details. Subscription management and cancellation are handled in your Apple ID account settings.
6. Children’s Privacy
ThingTick is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because most of your data lives on your device and your own account, you can exercise these rights directly in the app. For anything else, contact us below.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
